What we offer: Although we are a research-dedicated facility, our imaging resources are also available to support diagnostic imaging needs. The Human Imaging Facility is accredited by the American College of Radiology for brain, spine, and musculoskeletal imaging. All diagnostic scans are performed by an ARRT certified MRI Technologist. We are not affiliated with a hospital or clinical care facility, and we do not offer any medical services beyond diagnostic imaging. You will need to make arrangements with your physician to have your images evaluated.
Scheduling: For individuals referred to us by a physician, we are able to accommodate same-day and next-day appointments where there are openings in the imaging calendar not occupied by a research study. We can also keep individuals interested in our services on call for any times freed up because of a study cancelation. Appointments are generally only available during business hours, 8am – 5pm. If you have limited flexibility with your schedule and would like to be seen quickly for imaging, you may want to consider other providers.
What to expect: We will meet you in the waiting area of the lobby of the TIPS Building (800 Raymond Stotzer Pkwy) at the time of your appointment. Reserved spaces 1-5 are available for parking free of charge in lot 101, adjacent to the TIPS Building, and hourly parking is also available if needed. If you are more than 10 minutes late to your appointment, we might not be able to accommodate you and would need to reschedule. Payment is expected at time of service, and we will be able to release your images once payment has been processed (typically next day).
Costs: Diagnostic imaging is provided as a service to individuals and will thus be charged at the rate for non-Texas A&M University System users. Diagnostic imaging typically involves 40 minutes of billable imaging time, although it is possible that unique imaging needs might result in longer imaging times. Please note that our rate does not include any costs associated with the evaluation of your images by a radiologist. We are able to accept credit card and debit card as payment. Please note that we are unable to accept any form of insurance (cash pay only).
Arrangement with NationalRAD: We have an arrangement with NationalRAD whereby your images can be forwarded to their practice for evaluation and a report sent to your referring physician. We can handle the transfer of the images for you. Currently, the cost of the evaluation and report is $100, which includes processing and data storage. If you would prefer to use a different provider for image evaluation, we can provide you with an electronic copy of your images on CD for you to submit to the physician of your choice.
